A Thin Line Between Demonstration and Violence

Here are some examples, from Latin America, on how civilians have turned to violence while living in formal democratic conditions.

This first link shows images of indigenous people taking it up against special forces in Colombia. Protests over land rights rapidly turned violent.

This next link is another example of how a protest in Honduras turned violent, because civilians there are caught in the cross fire. More about this event.
